Community-based research (CBR) was created as an alternative to traditional academic research of communities, and to promote mutual, respectful, and empowering partnerships between researchers and communities with research needs. Community members are at the core - they take greater ownership and control over the decisions and activities related to the entire research process. CREAN’s research undergoes an external ethics review process.

There are many more publications in our archives (from 1999-2005). If you’d like to follow what we are working on, we publish monthly research updates on our blog.
