Music Therapy

Coastal Research Education and Advocacy Network (CREAN) in partnership with the Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM) is hosting a series of music therapy sessions for youth and young adults. We present this series to encourage our community to explore a musical form of communication, build relationships, and address anxiety of transitions and life changes.

Our community is undergoing a time of transition, which can harbor a lot of unspoken stress and anxiety or bottled up emotions. Instead of using words and talking as the medium of communication, we will be focusing on alternative ways to express ourselves via different musical instruments. Join us to explore and release stresses that can’t necessarily be defined by words.

Sessions are open to all youth and young adults (16-30) with no expectations for previous experience with music. Whether you are interested in exploring the ways musical mediums can be used to heal, simply in need of a relaxing experience or are a music guru - there are no restrictions!

Sessions will be led by Kim Brame, BMT & MTA. Kim is an accredited music therapist from the VCM.
