At VIPIRG, one of our priorities has always been alleviating the stigma and stereotypes surrounding poverty. Through community-research and working with those experiencing these issues first hand, we want to make it clear these are not static, but rounded, intersectional issues desperately needing attention. Often ignored are the issues that go hand-in-hand with poverty and homelessness; substance dependence, mental health, chronic illnesses and disabilities.

In this month's newsletter, we want to talk about poverty and homelessness, and their corresponding issues to help educate the community and bring awareness!
